The papers include letters from Richard Peters to Nicholas Biddle, James M. Broom, General Lafayette, John Vaughan, Roberts Vaux, William S. Warder, and Richard Wistar. There are five promissory notes to James Mease, dated 1808-1810 and three manuscript fragments. Richard Peters writes on a variety of agricultural topics, including draining salt marshes and using machinery for dressing flax and hemp, as well as letters related to the business of the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture, which he served as president from 1805 until 1828.
