Nominated by Warren G. Harding on September 20, 1922, to a new seat authorized by 42 Stat. 837. Confirmed by the Senate on September 22, 1922, and received commission on September 22, 1922. Assumed senior status on October 14, 1941. Service terminated on April 29, 1946, due to death.
