Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on March 26, 1958, to a seat vacated by Paul C. Leahy. Confirmed by the Senate on April 22, 1958, and received commission on April 23, 1958. Assumed senior status due to certified disability on December 30, 1969. Service terminated on July 26, 1986, due to death.
