Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky
Nominated by Harry S Truman on January 17, 1946, to a seat vacated by Shackelford Miller. Confirmed by the Senate on February 5, 1946, and received commission on February 8, 1946. Served as chief judge, 1948-1960. Assumed senior status on November 1, 1964. Service terminated on December 29, 1974, due to death.
