The act of January 19, 1928, 45 Stat. 52, authorized a temporary judgeship for the court and provided that the next vacancy in the district not be filled. In accordance with the statute, no successor to Martin Wade was appointed. 3. The act of May 19, 1961, 75 Stat. 80, authorized one judgeship to serve the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa. 4. The act of December 1, 1990, 104 Stat. 5089, assigned to this judgeship to the Northern District of Iowa exclusively.
