Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on May 24, 1967, to a new seat authorized by 80 Stat. 75. Confirmed by the Senate on June 12, 1967, and received commission on June 16, 1967. Assumed senior status on September 1, 1982. Service terminated on October 8, 2004, due to death.
