Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on August 16, 1966, to a seat vacated by Warren Leroy Jones. Confirmed by the Senate on August 25, 1966, and received commission on August 25, 1966. Assumed senior status on September 30, 1976. Service terminated on October 1, 1981, due to reassignment.
