Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia
Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on July 21, 1959, to a seat vacated by John Paul, Jr. Confirmed by the Senate on August 12, 1959, and received commission on August 13, 1959. Served as chief judge, 1960-1971. Assumed senior status on October 12, 1976. Service terminated on October 30, 1989, due to death.
