Congress established the U.S. Circuit Court for the District of Wisconsin and assigned the district to the Eighth Circuit.
February 9, 1863

Congress assigned the District of Wisconsin to the Ninth Circuit.
July 23, 1866

Congress reorganized the circuits and assigned the District of Wisconsin to the Seventh Circuit.
June 30, 1870
16 Stat. 171
This act divided Wisconsin into the eastern and western judicial districts and created a U.S. circuit court in each district.
March 3, 1911
